Contemporary Belgian art

For the past several years the collection of contemporary Belgian art here has become considerably larger, while the specific selection of the art pieces in it is getting even more valuable.

Within the sculpture park one can observe the imposing metal sculpture by Wim Delvoye (b. 1965) from the year 2006, called Dump Truck. Panamarenko (b. 1940) is also represented with two of his most famous works – the bronze sculpture Pepto Bismo from 2002 and the installation Super Paradox from 2001.

Among the leading artists in the contemporary Belgian art section of the collection are also Walter Swennen, Michel François and conceptual artist Jef Geys. Together they portray the wide range of authors and artistic quests represented in the Hugo Voeten Collection. One of the latest additions to the collection is the impressive painting Sea Piece (2011) by Thierry De Cordier.
