Teodora Axente

The Noise of Silence

The Romanian artist Teodora Axente (°1984) studied in Cluj, in Transylvania. She is part of a new generation of artists and art school that became internationally known. Axente shares with this young group of Romanian artists her dark color palette and an interest in the uncertainty of the individual in modern society. The artist explores states of internal crisis. The contrast between human emotions and the use of foil, satin pillows and nylon sacs denote the duality of the spiritual and the material and refers to the human desire to reform. For her first solo exhibition in Belgium, Romanian painter Teodora Axente (°1984) will present a series of new works.

End 2015-beginning 2016 Galleria Doris Ghetta showed artworks Teodora Axente in the exhibition Dipping into Matter. Until the end of March of this year the work of Teodora Axente is also on view at Ana Cristea Gallery in New York in the exhibition Cold Lining (Removing the Garb in Mystery).

Exhibition organized in collaboration with Galleria Doris Ghetta, Val Gardena, Italy.
